Our Story
Founded in 1966 by Alfredo Borino, Hotel De La Pace is housed in a historic mid-19th century palace, part of the city’s renovation that marked Florence as the capital of Italy. This building, which retains the charm of the era, has been transformed into a refined yet cosy place, designed to offer travellers a unique experience in the heart of Florence. Alfredo, a visionary with a deep love for his city and hospitality, laid the foundations for what was to become a true family legacy.
In the 1970s, the hotel was passed on to his son Mario Borino, who, with new energy, enlarged the structure while maintaining its original charm and warm atmosphere. Under his leadership, Hotel De La Pace became a landmark for those seeking authentic Florentine hospitality.
Over the years, his wife Emanuela, with ambition and courage, revolutionised the style of the hotel with her passion for design, giving it a “new skin”. His innovative vision and creative spirit transformed the hotel into an elegant and modern place.
Today, the tradition continues with the third generation: Vittoria and Niccolò Borino. With a fresh vision and deep family roots, they are leading the hotel into the future through digital innovation and a strong focus on sustainability. Their mission is to offer guests an experience that evokes serenity and the concept of “home away from home”, mixing modern comfort with local authenticity, creating an intimate and cosy stay where the spirit of Florence is present in every detail.
