Green Florence

A regenerating break between nature, art and breathtaking views

Florence is not only museums, churches and Renaissance masterpieces. It is also a city surprisingly rich in historic gardens, monumental parks and green oases where you can relax, stroll or simply breathe. Thanks to the central location of the Hotel de la Pace, you can easily reach many of these green areas, ideal for a rejuvenating break after cultural visits or an afternoon in the open air.

Horticulture Garden

Just a few minutes' walk from the hotel, this elegant 19th-century garden is a favourite with Florentines. The Tepidarium, a beautiful Art Nouveau greenhouse, hosts events and botanical exhibitions. Don't miss the Orti del Parnaso, a panoramic terrace with an enchanting view of the city and the dome of the Duomo.

The Rose Garden

Beneath Piazzale Michelangelo, this romantic garden contains more than 1,000 varieties of roses from all over the world. Among the flower beds, one can also admire some works by the sculptor Jean-Michel Folon. Perfect for a fragrant walk at sunset, with a view over the whole of Florence.

Iris Garden

Next to the Rose Garden, this unique space can only be visited in spring (usually from the end of April to the end of May). Florence is the city of the lily, and here you can admire hundreds of different varieties from all over the world.

Parco delle Cascine

Florence's largest urban park (160 hectares) is about 20 minutes away from the hotel. Perfect for jogging, cycling, picnics or simple walks under the trees. Every Tuesday it hosts a traditional open-air market. The park borders the Arno and offers large areas for children and families.

Villa Fabbricotti Park and Stibbert Museum

North of the hotel, in the Montughi area, are two elegant historical gardens. The park of Villa Fabbricotti is large and shady, frequented by families and those looking to relax. The nearby Stibbert Museum Park is a romantic garden with ponds, grottoes and a charming neo-Gothic temple, perfect for those seeking silence and atmosphere.

Boboli Garden

A timeless classic. Located behind the Pitti Palace, this historic Italian garden is a masterpiece of Renaissance landscaping. Fountains, statues, caves and views: a walk here is a journey through time. Admission is chargeable, but worth every minute.

Garden of Villa Bardini

A few steps from Boboli, this terraced garden offers one of the most iconic views of Florence. In spring, wisterias and camellias bloom, while in summer it offers shady, quiet corners. It often hosts art exhibitions and cultural events.
