Fiesole

The town of Fiesole located on a hill, about 300 meters above the sea level is approximately 6 km far from Florence. It is a touristic destination for its history, its marvellous landscape and its cultural treasures. You must visit the Anphitheatre and the arcaelogical area. A Monastery stands at the top of an Acropolis raising in front of the main square, and it offers a broad view of Florence and the surrounding hills.

A day trip from Florence to Fiesole is a must for any visitor to this part of Tuscany in Italy. Aside from the sights of interest within and near Fiesole itself, on a sunny day the view over Florence is spectacularly beautiful. Fiesole can be reached by car or bus, and also (for the fit only) on foot along narrow walled roads past numerous fine villas, including the Villa Medici at Fiesole.
